Graphite (mechanical pencil + 6B) This once I’ve ticked the ‘critique not desired’ box because I know there are many problems here and I feel pretty discouraged; I really thought I could do better than this. I set out to prove something to myself and I didn’t, so I'll try again. The idea was to do a sort of contrast to the Anthony Hopkins drawing, with blended skin tones instead of textured ones, and I really don’t like the overall look. I think it looks boring since no one’s skin is flawless, so I think I prefer my textures. Next I’ll combine the techniques and hopefully achieve brilliance. The hair was a pain in the tush since she has that style where the bottom layer is darker than the top, and there are some really dark streaks in it. Never mind that the blond hair was a harder to do than it looked. If you’ve seen this picture before, you’ll notice that I took a few liberties and changed a thing or two. Ugh.
