Ever since I happened upon ~krisa731s fabulous portfolio series using these sorts of metallic orbs Ive wanted to try to draw something with them. Hers are a fabulous mixed media concentration and some of my favorites are Magic Carpet Ride?, Have a Cane III, and Hand and Orbs IV This is nowhere near the awesomeness of her pieces, but I thought Id give it a try. I used the damn watercolor paper again because its the whitest paper I have (everything else is a weird creamy tone) and I thought I might get away with using it, but I had a really hard time trying to make the hand smooth and it shows. Trying to blur the two farthest fingers, the wrist, and the reflection on the second orb had me wanting to rip my hair out, and I just left it as is. Anyway, Im pretty happy with this drawing, it didnt take too long which is a bonus since I have seven other drawings to finish and send out to people. Oi!
great work foxy as if it were nt hard enough to draw hands, you ve also added some precisely drawn metallic orbs love the reflection, of course and the clean nails
I think the watercolour paper gives an added dimension by creating a juxtaposed texture. I think the wrist and the heel of the thumb have worked perfectly and just a shame that you couldn't achieve the same with the little finger.........maybe the hard 'black' line between the back orb and the heel of the thumb could be toned down a bit just to increase the sense of arial perspective....overall, a super piece.

There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
