Why so silent good Monsieurs, Did you think that I had left you for good?
All right! This is as done as I'm gonna get, other than some minor tweaking now that I see in the teeny little thumbnail the bits that should be altered. (Ex, ear, hair, eyes.) I'll also take a picture in some natural light tomorrow and upload it, desk lamp makes the colors weird. This is my foray into acrylics, and oh boy do I have a lot to learn. I tried to keep the colors used to a minimun since that makes remembering what colors to mix a bit easier, but I don't know whether that was helpful or a hinderance. I used Titanium White, Winsor Blue, Cadmium Red Hue, Cadmium Yellow Medium, Yellow Ocre, and Burnt Sienna. I hope you like, I'm moving on to oils and then maybe some watercolor trials, I've seen a lot of inspiring watercolor work lately. If we could all not look at the ear and hair, I'd be forever greatful.
*wipes tear away* Beautiful...astounding...breath-taking, the list goes on! The shades, hues, textures...amazing! Beautifully done, I applaude you!!! *faves*

You've achieved dramatic results from so few colours, stunning indeed. I love the warm hues in the background and how the detail is treated in a hazy glow - quite magical. I also love the mask and his partially hidden smile, sinister and beautiful
Wow! *squee* I love it! Great use of colours, the background is great, the Phantom is sexy of course! You made great use of the acrylics...which are pretty hard to use!
Thank you very much, I appreciate that... this bad boy's been oh, four months in the making? Haha, I think I worked on it about twice each month, if even that

Thank you for the wonderful comment! I loved the hazy detail in the background too, but actually putting it and getting it to blend on the canvas was tricky. I'm still iffy about the way it looks, but I probably won't change a thing, I've washed my hands clean of the background now The mask was actually quite fun because of the crazy skeletal shapes

There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
